Owing to its specific features and high artistic value, mosaic is classified among the top greatest forms of creative expression. Consequently, some of the most significant buildings in the world are adorned with impressive mosaics, which even today arouse a beholder’s admiration by its undeniable beauty. Since its beginning, mosaic has been linked to architecture as it has mostly been used as floor, wall and ceiling decoration. Still today, mosaics are more and more used when building and decorating hotels, public areas, shops, apartment buildings etc.
Through experimenting with new types of materials, contemporary architecture has built a special approach to mosaic. Thus, even today, mosaic often decorates a room wall as an abstract painting, a realistic portrait, geometrical pattern or a landscape rich in atmosphere.
